Blogging challenge – week 7

Question: The electricity grid went out in your country. What would change in your lifestyle? How would you relax?

If the electricity went out in America I wouldn’t be able to blog, listen to my music or watch any movies.  That wouldn’t be the worst though because I could still go outside and play.  To relax I would spend time outside sitting in the sunshine.  I’d also look for bugs.  All of our food would get warm without the refrigerator and I’d really miss ice cream.  At first I thought I would just make homemade ice cream in our ice cream maker but even that takes electricity.  I probably wouldn’t have much time to relax because I’d need to find water and hunt for food.  My life would also change because I couldn’t go to school and I bet my baseball practices would be cancelled.

    Dear Lucas,
Thanks for responding to one of the Week 7 activities. I liked reading your thoughts if the electricity grid went out. Years ago, schools operated without electricity. Would you like to research how schools functioned without electricity?

    Happy blogging,

Dear Lucas, I would be sad if I didn’t have ice cream😥😭. Have you ever heard of the “Free Electricity” it is a generator that if you pedal it for an hour you get electricity for 24 hours so if that ever happens it wouldn’t be a problem with the “Free electricity”.

    Dear Lucas,
If an electricity grid went out in the country or in taulatin which is where I live then I wouldn’t be able to do my homework or another huge problem would be meat. We wouldn’t be able to cook any meat, and the factory that make food to send to stores would have to shut down if you think deeper than you’d think the dams would shut down and the salmon would grow deeply endangered. But with all that going on, then how would I feel comfortable and live along with all the other people in Tualatin and the people in the country? I would have to live and I would need to spend most of my time in nature and probably live on a farm, { which I would hate because it would smell really bad and I wouldn’t be able to take a shower. Practically there’s no way I could survive if there was no power. Thankfully that didn’t really happen. Thank you for posting and I learned one thing, there’s more to electricity then you know it.
    Howdy,
    Katie

Lucas, the idea of no electricity is really something to ponder. Just think, the pioneers and civilizations going back to the beginning of time survived without electricity. We live in a very modern age where we take a lot of conveniences for granted like electricity, running water, heat in our homes, cars, airplanes, trains, computers, TV’s, movies and music to name only a few. Your question about living without electricity would be a fun group discussion sometime with family and friends. We are very lucky to live in today’s world. Love, Mema
